The international Magdalena Project is holding monthly online gatherings as a way to nurture the network during this time when physical festivals are impossible. The meetings happen on the second Sunday of the month, in Zoom. You can find details for the next gathering on the Madgdalena Project web site.
The sessions have featured speakers including Jill Greenhalgh, Geddy Aniksdal, Julia Varley, Cristina Castrillo and Bruna Gusbherti; and activities led by Helen Varley Jamieson, Deborah Hunt and Jana Korb. There are also break-out rooms for group discussions on various topics, and opportunities for participants to share about how they have continued to create during the pandemic restrictions.
AT:HOME:LIVE is a fore-runner to the first online Magdalena festival, called BODIES:ON:LIVE, to take place 24-27 June. This festival asks, what happens to theatre when bodies are distant? and will present performances, panel discussions, presentations and workshops by theatre artists from around the world.
