Many Magdalena women have articulated voice and language as being a core artistic driver in their work. At a Black Lives Matter rally in Aotearoa New Zealand last week this group Ngā Hinepūkōrero were captured on video in powerful, intelligent spoken word, in a piece about voice.

Ngā Hinepūkōrero are based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and are a group of four wahine Māori who use Spoken Word Poetry to bring kaupapa Māori to light.
